Who publishes this guide?
Maine Heat Pumps is an educational website from Mainely Computers. We explain common homeowner questions and point readers toward original sources. We are not an HVAC installer, government agency, electric utility, or rebate administrator.
How to use our information
Start here to understand the conversation, then ask a qualified installer to evaluate your home. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your exact equipment. Our articles cannot establish whether a system is suitable for your property or whether you qualify for an incentive.
Sources and review dates
We link to sources such as Efficiency Maine, the U.S. Department of Energy, utility providers, and the IRS. Program administrators determine their own eligibility requirements. Manufacturer manuals take priority for operation and care.
Review dates indicate when an article’s information was checked against its cited sources. They do not indicate an inspection of your equipment or certification by an HVAC professional. Dates are updated when a review takes place, rather than automatically.
Programs and rates can change between reviews. Always confirm current details with the organization before buying equipment or signing a contract.
